Quartz is a man made product composed of natural quartz (93%) and resin
(7%). The natural quartz is ground and then mixed with resin and
different pigments to create a great variety of different colors and
patterns. Quartz, differently than granite, does not require sealing,
because it is a non-porous material, which also makes it stain resitant
and scratch resistant. Unlike granite, quartz is not as heat resistant
due to the presence of resin (typically epoxy or polyester), so the use
of trivets is recommended.
Most quartz come with a limited warranty, some of them with a Lifetime
Limited Warranty.
Quartz is easy to maintain and care for, mild dish soap or a specific
product dedicated to quartz can be used.
